Appointments & Out of Hours Services

To make an appointment please telephone the practice.  You can also make direct routine appointments via Patient Access (see link below which is supported by our clinical system provider).   All consultations are by appointment only.  Each appointment is booked at 10 minute intervals for GPs and 15 minutes for practice nurses.

We offer pre-bookable appointments which you can book up to 2 weeks in advance and there are appointments to book on a daily basis too.

If you have a medical emergency and all the appointments for that day have been booked up, you will be offered a Telephone Clinic Consultation where the Clinician will ring you back that day. Please ensure you provide a correct contact number.

On arrival at the surgery, please report to reception or book yourself in via our Patient Book In system.    If you feel poorly while waiting to be seen, inform a member of staff and we will endeavour to get you seen as soon as possible.

We aim to keep the average waiting times to between 10-20 minutes, however this can  not always be adhered to due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.  However, if you have been waiting for longer than 30 minutes, please check back at Reception.

If you feel a 10 minute appointment appointment is just not long enough for you to discuss your medical problem with the GP, routine 'double' appointments are available on request.

During your appointment with a doctor or nurse you are welcome to have a chaperone.

Home & Out of Hour Visits

If you are genuinely unable to visit the surgery please try to telephone before 11.00am. Give the receptionist your Name; Address, Telephone number and try to give some idea of the problem the doctor needs this information to plan his rounds.

If you need an urgent visit or advice outside normal surgery hours please telephone the normal surgery number and you will be given the out of hours service number to ring.

You will be offered telephone advice by a doctor, a chance to attend a special GP out of hours centre (by appointment only), or a visit as appropriate.

Please be considerate and do not call if your problem could wait until the next day.

Telephone Consultations

It is now accepted that many problems can be sorted by telephone without a face-to-face consultation with the doctor. Advice can be given and prescriptions issued, if appropriate. If you wish to have a telephone consultations please request this when you telephone leaving your correct telephone number. The doctor will then ring you back as soon as he can.

If for any reason you are unable to keep an appointment please CANCEL it!
