Dr Roberts Surgery

Home Visits

If you need a home visit, please telephone the surgery before 10am if possible. This will help the doctors to plan their visits, which will normally not be made until the afternoon. If you think the visit will not wait, please advise the receptionist accordingly.

Home visits are reserved for patients who are housebound or are too ill or incapacitated that they cannot come, or be brought, to the surgery. Children are almost always able to be brought to surgery by an adult.

Home visits are very time-consuming for doctors when compared to appointments at the surgery. We may therefore call you to assess the need for a home visit and may ask you to attend the surgery instead if we think a visit is not necessary. We are grateful to those patients who do so because we can then use that valuable time to complete referral letters, check blood results, complete medical reports, and deal with other urgent problems.
